Icecream?!~ [Open]

Sephora glanced up at the bright sun, squinting a bit as she did so. The position of the sun informed her that it was high noon; it was the hottest it was going to get for the day and Sephora knew better then to stay out in the sunlight for too long. But, a trip to the market had been necessary to fix her ice cream craving: strawberry ice cream had been one of the more recent discovers for her and in her opinion it was a gift from the gods themselves. Less then a week ago she wouldn't even have bothered to dare step foot into the market during this time of day: given her past and the things she had had to do to survive she had been considered a criminal. Yet, that was no longer the case thanks to Kin – he had not only squared away her issues with the merchants, but he had taken her in and taken care of her.

It was odd, this freedom. She was able to come and go as she pleased, and she had pocket change to actually be able to buy things instead of going without or having to resort to stealing. It put a smile on her face even now to think about: she had done some work helping someone else recently and she had been paid for it. It was a good feeling to work for what she wanted.

She also didn't have to hide any longer: her five exceptionally fluffy tails were visible coming from the back of her light and airy dress; it was in several layers with colors ranging from pinks to yellows to blues – all pale and bright. The light multi-colored matching 'scarf' used to normally cover her head was down and hanging about her shoulders, allowing for her white-to-gold colored hair to show as well as two golden colored fox ears which were twitching and swiveling at the smallest sound.

Sephora was practically skipping as she moved past people, giggling like a happy child with not a care in the world. She reached the intended ice cream stall and stood in line, practically bouncing in place.

Getting used to this dry heat that permeated Yokuchigakure was definitely something that Sasayaki was having a hard time adjusting to. There was no humidity or breaks from the harsh temperatures due to rain, and it was horrible. It even was making him a little home sick for the greenery that his childhood had been filled with in Yokuchigakure. The heat here was truly formidable, and a world that he had at first seen as desolate was certainly very lively within the village. And, he wanted to explore, not be egged on to hide from the unforgiving heat. Still, hide was what he had been doing for the past hour in a small little restaurant.

He'd needed a break from the heat, even though the day was only a few hours old. His skin was starting to revolt from the hot sun that it wasn't used to. Because of the sun beating down on him, his skin had turned slightly red, and he was a little worried that it was going to burn. He absolutely hated sunburns, and he'd forgotten to bring anything to treat a sunburn with him from Hinowa. Of course he knew that he'd probably be able to find something within Yokuchi, but he knew that the price would probably be a bit jacked up. It was probably only dumb tourists like he was who got burned by the hot sun that resided here.

Sasayaki took a deep breath as he walked out of little restaurant that he'd just eaten at, feeling the heat hit him almost like a brick wall would. With a grimace from behind his mask he ventured through the crowd to where he hoped he remembered a ice cream stall being. He really hoped that the ice cream would cool him down enough to keep himself from pulling his arms out of the sleeves that protected them from the sun's beatings. After looking for a while, he finally found the little stall and found himself falling into line behind a girl who had tails. Fox tails. And ears. His head tilted a bit as he studied her. A fox god had been the reasoning behind his mask, and she kind of looked like one of the images that his sensei's had showed him when he had asked curiously what they had been like.

Of course, people with animal traits weren't exactly unusual, so he knew that she wasn't one of these gods, but it still made him curious about the excited looking girl.

It was hard to be so patient: to have to wait in line when such a delicious cold treat was mere feet away. Sephora found herself bouncing in place; too hyper and excited over her soon to come delicious treat to stand still. The man at the front of the line grabbed his bowl of ice cream as it came up, as well as the cone meant for his young son and the pair moved off. As the line moved forward Sephora took a careful step or two up.

There were still quite a few people in front of her: a woman, two teenager females, and three smaller boys. At first Sephora had thought they were all separate, but as she heard the woman ask everyone in general what they wanted she quickly realized they were all together. The three boys all quickly came up with an answer to the adults question – one of them wanted chocolate and the other two wanted vanilla – but the two girls stared at the menu, beginning to debate with each other what they wanted. Sephora let out a soft, slightly annoyed sounding whine of a sound, but thankfully none of the people in front of her heard her – or even noticed her for that matter.

Her ears swiveled and twitched on top of her head and she found herself searching for a distraction; something to pass the time with so that she wouldn't continue to mope about how long it was going to take for her to get her strawberry ice cream in a cone. It was at that point that she turned slightly, her tails swaying a bit, as she looked behind her to see just how many people had lined up. There was only one person behind her, a masked individual. She gave him a quick once over in curiosity, but the mask was what grabbed and held her attention the most.

A gentle smile formed across her lips. ”I like your mask.”, she said bravely, and softly. She still wasn't entirely used to interactions with other people, nor did she exactly know how to effectively communicate with other people the proper way, so blurting out the first thing that came to mind was normally how her mind and mouth operated. Her right ear swiveled in the direction of the three little boys who were at this point arguing over who actually was ordering what flavor of ice cream. A soft sigh escaped Sephora as she glanced in their direction with her yellow colored gaze: this was going to end up taking even longer then she thought.
