| - Mission: Fine A Lost Shoe:
Mission name: Find a lost shoe Mission rank: D Objective: Someone was moronic enough to lose their shoe. You are tasked to find it. Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 100 Word Minimum Mission description: Its rather simple, just find the shoe. Mission details: So long as you bring them something, you'll get paid. The owner is rather scatterbrained, and isn't even completely sure of what the shoe looks like, so you can easily just bring whatever you find that is in decent condition.
Okay, Emiko hadn't been on any 'official' missions yet, but still... finding a lost shoe? That was a bit ridiculous if she did say so herself: and she did, in fact, say so. The mission gave no description of the shoe save for the fact that it was recently lost, and considering who the eccentric owner was? She was pretty sure she could get away with just finding any old shoe lying around so long as it was in good condition. So, that was the plan! Grab the first shoe she could find that was in decent enough condition, turn it in, and cash out on the reward of ryo. Simple, easy to remember. Perfect. Emiko headed out the building, humming a little tune softly to herself as she went. She started down the street, hoping that she wouldn't have to go too far. With every single step she took she kept her eyes pealed for this elusive shoe – or any shoe really, she didn't care. The first street block granted her little success; she didn't even see anything that remotely resembled a shoe. The second block she started searching on granted her something she wished she hadn't seen; an old pair of boxers that were lying in the middle of the street. 'Honestly, how does someone lose something like that?'By the third block she had found a shoe but it was too old, and far too dirty. It looked like it had once belonged to a dog that had gained great joy out of chewing on the thing until it was almost unrecognizable and definitely falling apart. Onto the fourth block and she was beginning to lose hope. That was, until about halfway down the street, she spotted a shoe lying near the curb. She rushed over, hoping that it would at least be in decent condition.... And it was! Grinning to herself like a bit of an idiot she headed back the way she came and back to the mission board to turn in the shoe and to collect her ryo. She left counting it no more then ten minutes later... Word Count: 363 / 100

| - Mission: Planer Lost?:
Mission name: Planer Lost? Mission rank: D Objective: Find the Carpenter's Plane Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 100 Word Minimum Mission description: A local carpenter has lost his plane, a tool used for making flat surfaces out of wood. While not an uncommon tool, the carpenter highly values this particular piece of equipment as it is a family heirloom. The ancient village symbol is carved into the wooden handle, making this tool fairly easy to distinguish. Mission details: Beyond a few cats or small animals, you won't likely find much in the way of problems finding this tool. Just make sure to bring it back in one piece; a screw is loose in the handle and if it breaks the tool will come apart in a way that cannot be fixed. If this happens, you will fail.
”I'm here to help you find your tool...”, Emiko stated upon making it to the appropriate stall with a fresh mission scroll in hand. Honestly, it sometimes baffled her how people would pay to have others do almost anything for them. Silly, really, wasting all of that ryo just to have someone else come by and look for something you lost. But, she wasn't going to complain too much because that meant easy ryo for her – if she could find it. Something told her she wasn't going to get paid just for looking. ”Well, come on then. Get to looking.”Right, dude sounded grumpy and she didn't blame him since he had lost an important tool. But, still.. to take it out on her? Not fair. ”Kay...”, was what Emiko chose to reply with as she came around and into the stall. She began to search starting with higher places and working her way down. She double checked the tools that were hanging up, checked the counters thoroughly by shifting everything around and looking behind it. She even checked behind the counters between the counter and the wall to ensure it didn't slip down and was stuck somewhere. But, there was no planer. She wasn't going to give up though and worked her way down even further. Cabinets were checked, and so on as she moved finally to the floor. Just as she was beginning to lose hope she lifted up a basket to discover the planer underneath of it, and thankfully still together. She picked it up carefully, waited until the shop keep was finished with his customer and handed it to him. When she was thanked she nodded in reply and then left to turn in her mission completed and collect her payment. Word Count: 302 / 100

| - Mission: Fixing the Shop:
Mission Name: Fixing The Shop Mission Rank: D Objective: Help to repair the smoke and water damage to a bakery that was set on fire. Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Ryo = 1 Word | 100 Word Minimum Mission Description: The investigation into the source of the fire is complete, and the owner is now able to rebuild the bakery. Assist in cleaning up the water, smoke, and fire damage caused by the flames. Be ready to move damage, heavy equipment outside of the building so that it can be hauled to the repair shop, or local recycling centers.
A sigh escaped Emiko as she read the latest mission she was tasked with. A bakery had suffered a damaging fire and now that the investigation into the fire was completed there was some serious clean up to do. She had just been tasked with that job. Emiko was not one for manual labor: she was a thinker and now a fighter. But, she wasn't going to say no – she didn't think she could anyway. Besides, money was money, and if she wanted to move – which she needed badly to do – then she needed to shut up and grin and bare it. And so, with that in mind she left. She headed down the street, her head down, her hands in her pockets. She knew where this bakery was because they often sold cookies and little cakes she liked to nibble on, so it wasn't like it was going to take her very long, and it wasn't like she could get lost. She made it within ten minutes and stepped in cautiously. She was greeted by the bakery owner who instantly sized her up and then handed her a broom. ”You sweep the water out the front door, me and the guys will move the larger objects out back.” Emiko nodded to the owners instructions and got to work. It was a bit harder said then actually done; the water had pooled quite a bit in the shop from when they had been trying to put out the fire, and it wasn't all that easy to sweep it out a door. After several attempts an idea came into mind and Emiko found herself a screw driver. She went to the door and unscrewed the door's bottom metal guard. The moment she lifted it up the water went rushing out and into the streets. She kept it off until all of the water was drained, and then screwed it back on. ”Huh, excellent idea. Should've thought of that myself. You're done here, thanks.” Emiko returned the screw driver, nodded, and headed off to collect her payment... that task had gone a lot easier then she had thought it would. Word Count: 368 / 100

| - Mission: General Repairs:
Mission name: General Repairs (Repeatable) Mission rank: D Objective: Make Repairs Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 100 Word Minimum Mission description: The Administrative Building is in dire need of a new coat of paint both inside and out. The shrubbery surrounding the building could also use some trimming, and the grass could use a cut. Your job is to choose a few tasks to help out and get them done to the best of your ability. Mission Details: General repairs are needed, anything from painting the out side and inside of the building to mowing the lawns. If it can be broken it can be fixed too; so long as you know what you're doing.
”Hm... perhaps I could round up some help for this one.”, Emiko muttered beneath her breath as she read the latest mission scroll she had gotten. There were some general repairs needed around the administrative building and it all sounded like a lot of honest to goodness hard work. Physical labor wasn't Emiko's forte, but perhaps she could 'convince' someone to help her get through it all. It wouldn't be hard, not after the training she had been putting in. So, Emiko began to search around: she knew she couldn't risk trying to enlist the help of another shinobi, but perhaps she could find a strong looking man – or woman – who could be convinced to help her out with the right words. It took her nearly five minutes but then she spotted one of the younger looking maintenance workers who was sitting on a nearby garden wall, alone, eating his lunch. Grinning to herself she walked over. When the man looked up Emiko put on the charm, infusing her voice with chakra as she did so to enhance her Miwaku Genjutsu. ”You're not busy, right? I could use some help doing some painting.. it's awfully hard work, and I'm not very big and strong like you. You wouldn't mind helping me out, right?” Emiko stopped there, waiting, watching. The man looked her over, as if thinking about her words, and then put his lunch aside. Grinning to herself Emiko followed him as he went inside, into the storage room, and grabbed the supplies he would need. He then headed back outside and got to work painting the exterior of the administrative building. Emiko watched, keeping out of the way, as the guy went to work – doing her task for her, without her having to get her hands dirty. Hey, it was getting done, right? When the painting was finished and the guy was getting off the ladder she knew the Genjutsu was beginning to wear off due to how confused he was beginning to look. ”Do you think you could put the stuff away for me, too? Since you're so big and strong and I'm so not...”A glazed look came over the guys face once more and he nodded before doing just that, cleaning up the mess that was left over from the paint job. When it was over, and the mess was clean, Emiko went and turned in on a job well done – even if she hadn't exactly been the one to do it. Word Count: 426 / 100 - Jutsu Used:

| - Mission: Mailman:
Mission name: Mailman Mission rank: D Objective: Deliver some letters. Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 100 Word Minimum Mission description: There are three letters that need delivered to three different people across the village; Lee, Yen, and Kei. The letters are in sealed envelopes with the name and address on each one easily readable on the front. Mission details: Deliver the letters in any order you wish. If you open the letters you will fail the mission; and they will know they've been opened.
Emiko looked down at the three envelopes in her hand that had come with her latest mission scroll. She was, apparently, playing mailman. A double check of the scroll, and yup, that was totally confirmed. Ah well, it wasn't a hard task by far, and walking was good exercise – or so she had been told. She looked carefully at the addresses listed and found them to be relatively close to each other. She then organized the letters from who was closest to her current location to who was furthest away. With that done she headed out and down the street. The first letter, which was Lee, was dropped into the mail slot of his door. She heard a dog barking inside and knew that there was no need to knock since the dog had essentially done the job for her. Down the street a little ways and she came upon Yen's house. She knocked, and upon there being no answer, and figuring that he was likely out somewhere, she dropped it into the mailbox near his door. And finally to the last house, Kei's. She walked up to the door and knocked. A child answered it, and she handed it to the kid without a word. The kid stared at her for several seconds and then closed the door. On the other side Emiko heard the little kid say that a 'creep had brought a letter'. Rolling her eyes, and with her mission now completed, Emiko turned back around and headed back to collect her payment. Word Count: 262 / 100

| - Mission: Transporting the Boxes:
Mission name: Transporting the Boxes (Repeatable) Mission rank: D Objective: Transport some boxes from one storage room to another. Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 100 Word Minimum Mission description: The Administrative Building is a little short handed, and they've been doing some room changing. To help keep things neat and organized, you've been asked to help transport some boxes from one storage room to another on the other side of the building. Mission Details: There are about twenty boxes in all. Ten small boxes. Five medium sized boxes. Five extremely large boxes. They're filled with all number of things; records, old office supplies, and other such not-so-important things. You have to take the boxes from one storage room to another which on the whole other side of the Administrative building and a floor above.
Another mission of manual labor. Emiko should have expected it of course, she knew that. The Genin were normally the ones who got the “easy” missions, and by easy that meant the missions that had the least amount of danger. The boring work. The chores. The babysitting. In this case? Moving boxes from one storage room and to another. A mundane task that seemed silly: if there was nothing wrong with the old storage room then why move the boxes to the new one? Whatever. She wasn't going to be the one moving the boxes, nope. She was going to find someone else and talk them into moving the boxes for her. As Emiko left the mission board she kept an eye out for someone who looked susceptible to her Genjutsu charms. She knew she couldn't try and rope another shinobi into helping her with the task because it'd be far too messy, but perhaps she could find a maintenance worker or some stranger wandering about. It took about ten minutes before she spotted someone that could help her; a young looking man who looked way too lost and who obviously had no idea where he was going. Emiko lined her voice with chakra as she approached him, ”You look a little lost, stranger. Maybe I can help you if you'll help me... There's all these big boxes I have to carry and they're far too heavy... could you help me out?” The male's eyes glazed over and he nodded. Grinning Emiko led the way to the storage room and opened it up. Without her having to say anything further the man got to work with loading the trolly and bringing the boxes up the steps a few at a time. Emiko trailed behind, ensuring that her Genjutsu remained in effect as the man worked: she didn't want it to break halfway through after all. All five large boxes, all five medium boxes, and all ten small boxes made it up the steps carefully and securely, and into the new storage room. When the moving was finished she ensured the trolly was in the new room, dismissed the man who had helped her, and locked both rooms up before going to get her payment. | - Mission: Ninja UPS!:
Mission name: Ninja UPS! (Repeatable) Mission rank: D Objective: Deliver the package. Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 100 Word Minimum Mission description: Hoshi needs a very fragile package delivered to Hiro. What's in the package is highly expensive; so you must be careful. Hiro will be at his home. Mission details: Hiro has ordered a fragile glass ornament from Hoshi. Your job is to deliver the package without breaking what's inside or opening it. If you break it, or open the package, you will fail the mission.
Emiko looked down at the latest mission scroll to come her way: she needed to deliver a package for Hoshi to a elderly man named Hiro. It seemed simple enough, and Emiko enjoyed walks through the market anyway. So, with no complaints she headed out, figuring that this was going to be some easy ryo to make and yet another mission notch in her belt. She walked quickly until she reached the market and then slowed down so that she could find Hoshi's stall easier. About halfway down she spotted it; plenty or ornate pieces of jewelry and head dresses were on display. Grinning to herself a bit she walked into the shop and waited in line behind a customer who was complaining that a jewel had fallen out of a hair comb. Thankfully, she didn't have to wait more then two or three minutes because Hoshi was just finishing up with her when Emiko arrived. ”I'm here to pick up a package for you and deliver it to Hiro.” Emiko explained simply. Hoshi nodded and disappeared into the back of his shop for a moment. He emerged less then sixty seconds later with a brown paper wrapped package that was tied with twine. He handed it over to her with a toothless smile. Emiko nodded and left the shop just after another customer had entered. She was careful with the package as she headed down the street and towards the address that was clearly written on it in black ink. She ensured she wasn't bumped or tripped as she went, and careful not to let the package slip through her fingertips. It took her roughly ten minutes to reach Hiro's house and upon arrival at his door she knocked carefully and loudly. ”Special delivery from Hoshi.”, Emiko explained as the door was opened. Hiro nodded, took the package, thanked her, and closed the door. Emiko turned and headed back the way she came, more interested in her payment then what was in the package. Word Count: 341 / 100

| - Mission: Gaurd Duty:
Mission name: Guard Duty (Repeatable) Mission rank: D Objective: Keep the supplies safe. Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 100 Word Minimum Mission description: There's been some break ins in the local market and the merchants are reaching out for some help. You've been tasked with doing night-time guard duty and ensuring that their products remain safe. Mission details: An Academy student has been breaking in from time to time stealing candy and other little things; along with just being an overall vandal. He will not strike the night you're guarding. So, as long as you stay awake you'll be rewarded for your efforts.
'Well, it's a good thing I took that nap earlier today...', Emiko thought to herself as she looked down at the latest mission scroll her hands had a chance to touch: she had just been put on a shift of guard duty. Apparently someone had been breaking in to some of the shops and the merchants had made enough fuss about it to get someone to notice and send an actual shinobi along to do patrol. It didn't down particularly hard, but it did sound long and tiring. Shrugging to herself and figuring this would only screw up her sleep schedule for one night, she headed out of the building and down the street. Her shift was supposed to start in less then twenty minutes – good thing Emiko had been earlier then planned picking this mission up – and she had no intentions of being late. She arrived at her destination: a stretch of shops that she was supposed to keep safe. A glance at her watch and she was quick to switch off with the guard who had been on patrol before her. A quick debriefing informed her that this would be thief and vandal had yet to strike. Emiko kept awake and vigilant as she patrolled up and down the street cautiously. She kept her eyes peeled for any sort of mischief or anything that could be considered out of place. Through the night she kept working, using the streetlights to keep watch. Finally, morning broke, and the next guard arrived to take over her shift. She debriefed him quickly; nothing had happened, and it had been an uneventful night; before she took off to go get her paycheck and then some well needed sleep. Word Count: 294 / 100

| - Mission: House Work:
Mission name: House Work (Repeatable) Mission rank: D Objective: Help the Elderly lady. Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 100 Word Minimum Mission description: Lea, an elderly rich woman recently had to fire her servant for stealing from her; but she's in desperate need of some house work being done. She has a short list and Ryo she's willing to pay to anyone who will help her out. Mission details: Lea is a very sweet and very kind old woman whose just trying to enjoy her remaining years in life. She has worked hard for her money all of her life and is more than willing to reward anyone willing to help her out. The list of chores that need done include washing windows, sweeping the floors, pretty much anything that a house can need done. You do not have to accomplish every task; but at least one or two and you'll be well paid for your help.
”Tch...” Emiko couldn't help but shake her head at her new assignment: she wasn't often a people person but Lea was good peoples all around. The woman had worked for what she had, and had definitely earned a good and peaceful retirement. With that being said it pissed Emiko off to no end to see that she was seeking out help elsewhere because she had yet to be able to replace the servant that had been stealing off of her. Shaking her head in disgust Emiko headed out and on her way: she wanted to ensure she was plenty early so she could offer her whole day to helping Lea out. Thankfully, Lea's house wasn't all that far away, and at Emiko's hurried pace she made it in roughly fifteen minutes. She walked up to the door, knocked loudly, and waited. It took a moment or so but eventually she heard slowed footsteps on the other side of the door. She forced a smile on her face despite the inner anger she still felt towards Lea's unfaithful servant, as Lea opened the door. ”Hello, I've been sent to help you out today.””Oh, won't you please come in dear. How are you Emiko?””I've been alright. How about you?””I've been feeling a little under the weather but nothing to worry about dear. I suppose you're here to help me with chores? There's quite a list: I don't expect you to get it all done though.””Don't worry about a thing. You go ahead and relax and I'll take care of everything.” Emiko took the list while Lea went and got comfortable. Once Lea was settled Emiko turned her attention to the list of chores that needed done: the laundry needed hung out to dry, the kitchen floor needed a good sweeping and then to be mopped, dishes needed done, and the counters needed washed. Deciding to do the dishes first that's where Emiko headed. There wasn't much in the sink; a few plates, a bowl, several pieces of silverware and some cups. She washed it all up, ensuring that not a speck of food was left, and put the dishes in the draining rack to dry. When she was done with the dishes she wiped down the counters, ensuring that it too was completely spotless just as the dishes were. With the dishes drying she went ahead and pulled the wet clothing out of the washer as it got finished and carried the basket outside. She made quick work of hanging the clothes up so that they could dry in the sun. When she was finished, and everything was hung up to dry, she headed back in and put away the now dry dishes. Following this she swept the floor and then proceeded to mop it, ensuring it was completely clean. Once finished she headed into the living room where Lea was reading a book. ”All finished dear?”Emiko nodded. ”Is there anything else you need help with?””No, that's it. Thank you.” Emiko nodded, waved goodbye, and left to go get her payment for yet another mission well done. Word Count: 527 / 100
