| - Catch the Animal. C-Rank:
Mission name: Catch the Animal Mission rank: C Objective: Catch the pet deer Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 250 Word Minimum Mission description:A local animal has gone missing, and owner is too short handed to hunt it down. Find it. Mission details: The animal in question is a family pet, and therefore totally tame, meaning it cannot survive in the wild. Capture it before nightfall. If it's not found by then, it will be eaten by wild dogs or some other horrible fate. You get to decide what animal you are catching.
Oh, this again? Seriously, are civilian's just bad at keeping track of their pets? Now, if it was some exotic or something he could understand, but this was apparently a 6 month old puppy. How you lose a puppy... Or he was being an ass and assuming. Woops. The mission sheet had a note attached, a sticky with extra information. Apparently the owner was a young child, and he was attacked by some older bullies. They scared the dog off while they taunted and attacked the child. Wonderful. He kind of wished he was tasked with teaching the bullies a 'lesson'. Oh well. He'd find the dog. The picture and the dog's bandana where all he needed. Coen could track the puppy by the scent from the bandana, and do it quickly. Extremely so. He'd handed the bandana to Coen and glanced back at the mission sheet for less than a second; and that was enough for Coen to have taken off down the road using those long legs of his; perfectly adapted to making long leaps for even longer periods of time and covering massive spaces. Wonderful. Karu too off after him, having to almost sprint to keep catch him and keep up. "Coooeeeeen! You know better!" "I smell, Daddy! I find!" "I now you will, but you don't have to race!" "Close Daddy! Close!" Oh. Well, alright then. He just shut up and followed the joey down the road for a few blocks and then into an alleyway. The place was filthy, in that way that only happens after it rains. It had rained for a bit that morning; so what had once likely been a neatly piled mound of boxes waiting for trash pick up the next day was now a soggy mess of nasty and mud. Coen went right for it, digging at a specific spot for a moment until the soggy cardboard was pulled away and a little wagging tail could be seen. Karu moved up beside him and shoved hands into the mess, finding somthing solid to grab hold of and lift upward, allowing Coen to gently pull the little puppy free. He must have been hiding under the box when everything shifted and fell down, trapping him there. "Hey there little one, you okay?" He took the puppy from Coen and checked him over, finding little more than a few shallow scratches on it's nose and some muddy fur. "Let's get you home." WC: 417/250

| - Catch the Thief. C-Rank:
Mission name: Stop that Thief! (Repeatable) Mission rank: C Objective: Stop the thief. Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 250 Word Minimum Mission description: You're walking down the Market when you hear someone shouting for you to catch the thief; which you then see running away. Your job is to chase down and stop the thief, bring back the stolen goods, and then hand the thief off to the proper authorities. Mission details: The thief is an Academy wash out who will absolutely refuse to give you his name. He has no skill minus basic Taijutsu knowledge, though he'll be more worried about running away and trying to escape than actually fighting you. However, if you do physically restrain him then he will likely attempt to fight you off, though it will be a pathetic attempt. Retrieve the stolen goods from his pockets so you can return them after he is handed over to the proper authorities and your job will be done.
They'd just finished taking the puppy back to it's home and where taking the long way back to the mission room; wandering through the market for a bit. Karu was thinking of getting some fruit for him and Coen to share on the walk, but it seemed like that wasn't going to happen. They'd be about to turn into the dry market and hit up a produce stand when they'd heard a rather pissed off scream. Not the type to ignore stuff like that, they turned the opposite way from where they wanted to go and ended up in the part of the market where trinkets and bags and stuff where sold; the touristy area with a lot of small, usually cheap item for sale. This wasn't one of those cheap stalls. The owner of what was actually a very reputable stall was screaming in rage and there was an obvious thief speeding away at a fair run. The owner's leg was in a cast, hence the lack of chasing; and even with the market being fairly empty for the time of day, he'd never be able to catch the thief like that. "I got it." He signaled for Coen to stay with the stall owner just in case there was an accomplice and Karu took off running. This kid, and he could see this guy was little more than a kid, was obviously moving as fast as he could; but that was nothing for Karu. Karu had training and age on this kid, and he had him tackled to the ground in less than a minute. They'd barely gone a hundred yards, even with a head start the thief had nothing on Karu's speed. "Lemme go!" "Not happening, kid." The kid was trying to kick and swing at Karu, but the position he was in made that impossible, really. Even more so when Karu shifted the kid into a headlock and sleeper hold combo; within seconds the fight was drained from the boy and he was snoring peacefully. Just in time for the market police to arrive. Late as usual. He flashed his ID so that they wouldn't try to detain him and handed over the kid; after he removed the stolen money bag from his pocket. He'd take it back to the stall owner himself, he didn't trust the market cops to not 'lose' it. Trotting back to the stall, "Here ya go. That should be all of it, unless he dropped some." "Thank you. You're a ninja, right?" "Yessir. Just a passing Chunnin on the way to pick up a mission for the day." "What's your name, son?" "Karukaya. Kaname Karukaya." "Karukaya, then. I'll be sure to leave a nice report about you. Not many, even ninja, would have just chased down a thief like that." "It was nothing, sir. Please excuse me, I must report in before I'm late." "Of course." WC: 502/250

| - Bear Killer. B-Rank:
Mission name: Bear Killer Mission rank: B Objective: Kill the man eating bear that has been roaming the countryside Location: All Villages Reward: 1 Word = 1 Ryo | 500 Word Minimum Mission description: A large black bear has been killing travelers around the outskirts of the village. Having developed a taste for human flesh it will attack anyone found in it's territory. It must be destroyed before it's victim total skyrockets. Mission details: 1 bear 1 ninja - one survivor. The bear is considered to have B rank Taijutsu and fights using the bear style (only known by bears).
Karu and Coen made it to the mission room just in time to get smacked in the face with panicked activity. Several of the desk ninja where up and screaming at each other, obviously trying to sort out who was in the village and who wasn't, whom was on and off duty; and who they could scrounge up for something that was obviously rather important. Strange. "Oh thank the gods!" The Special Jounin in charge of handing out the higher ranked missions all but glomped Karu when he noticed him standing in the doorway, dragging him inside and sputtering out something about a bear attack and needing all the help they could get. Apparently, they where short staffed today, and there wasn't a single Jounin level ninja available for this; but they didn't want to bother the Rakuenkage. "We need people, but we don't have them. Karu I know you're not a Jounin yet but you've proven you've got skill and we need that please help!""Calm, Rassen. Calm. Bear attack?""At the edge of the village, near the zoo. This huge black bear is just rampaging and we don't have anyone out there that can handle it. We've got zoo keepers and Genin trying to keep it occupied until we can get someone out there to take care of it but there's no one here. But now you're here and you can handle this I know you can please Karu we need you to do this please please please!"He... what? Gods this guy was hard to understand when he was talking that fast. So... a bear, attacking the village, and no one to take care of it. But him. And Coen. Wonderful. "Yeah, yeah, of course. The zoo? Or the wildlife center?""Zoo! The actual zoo. The center is safe right now.""Alright, I'm on my way." He raced out the room with Coen following close behind, racing off across the village and toward the zoo area. The closer they got the more obvious it was something was going on; genin where stationed on the streets turning people away and only letting ninja personnel through. He raced passed them fast as he could; making it to the one other Chunnin on the scene and checking in with him. "I've got this. Get everyone back as far as you can. I need room to work.""Got it." He didn't even bother asking why another Chunnin was going to try and solo kill this bear, everyone knew that Karu was Temaki's student, and word of the fight with the beast out on the plains was well spread by now. Everyone knew he was insane and smart and good at beast killing, so they where going to just trust him and trust their Kage's judgement on picking him. The area emptied out as Karu and Coen raced in; the bear was in an open field and that worked perfectly for them. He wasn't about to let this drag on any longer than it had. "Coen, circle. If he tried to get away, break him." He had more power than Coen did right now, and while Coen could do some serious damage, he wasn't sure he'd be able to not hurt Coen at the moment. He was about to use some skills he'd never used before in combat. If they worked, this bear would be dead in two shots. "Hey! Bear! COME AT ME BRO!" He'd picked up a small rock from by his feet and flung it with surprising accuracy at the bear, hitting it square between the eyes. No damage, but annoying. Enough to get the thing's attention. It reared up just like he hoped and figured it would; bear behavior was fairly predictable, and he knew enough about animals and predators in general to have a good idea of what he needed to do. The thing was dead the moment it reared. That left it's chest and stomach open; the weak points for a predator like him. Karu focused all his chakra into his fists and and legs; pushing his speed to the max and rushing straight for the bear. He had the element of surprise, and natural instincts on his side; no bear would expect a rushing charge like this, and it was enough to cause pause. That split second pause was all he needed. He pulled his arms back in the moment before impact, thrusting them forward hard enough that in that moment when potential energy converted to kinetic energy and the focused chakra released, it caused a massive shock wave powerful enough to not only crack ribs, but bruise and nearly liquefy organs and send the beast flying backwards by several meters. The bear was stunned and obviously hurt; it was wheezing and roaring and stuck on it's back for the moment until it was able to shift and get back to it's feet. That's all the time he needed for a follow up. He used the residual momentum from the initial strike and charged as much fire chakra to he feet as he could while he leaped up and forward; pushing himself high into the air and shifting into a falling ax kick. He smashed directly into the same spot he'd hit originally, a wall of flames erupting from the impact spot and the body of the beast crushing through the earth until it was laying in an impact crater 3 feet deep and wider than it's body. It was now very, very dead. It's chest was completely caved in, and there was blood flowing freely from it's mouth and nose. It's chest fur was burned away, and the flesh was sizzling and bubbling from the heat released during the kick. Awesome. Karu walked away from the beast with a slight limp, the impact had shifted his hip uncomfortably, so he'd need to go see a medic before he moved on to something else for the day. A Jounin had FINALLY shown up, just in time to see him land the kick; staring slightly slack jawed at the scene. "Well. Okay then. I guess you won that fight. How are you not hurt?""Two shots.""T-two... TWO SHOTS!?""Mhmm.""Shit man. How?""Sensei trains me well.""No shit? That's freaking nuts.""Daddy, we go?" Coen had hopped up, smiling happily over how fast Karu had handled the bear. "Yes, son. We're going to go get something to eat, finally.""Yay!"WC: 1173/500 - Jutsu and chakra:
Name: Berserk Palm (Beruseruku Hirate - ベルセルク 平手) Canon/Custom: Custom Rank: B Type: Offensive Element: / Range: Melee Specialty: Taijutsu Duration: 1 post Cooldown: 5 posts Description: The user runs towards their opponent at blinding speed and slams their palm against the opponent's chest. This results in a powerful shockwave that sends the opponent flying back roughly 10m. This commonly cracks ribs and causes serious internal injuries, including bruising of the tissues and lungs and internal bleeding.
Name: Blazing Meteor Strike (Ranran Ryuusei Ouda- 爛爛 流星 殴打) Canon/Custom: Custom Rank: B-Rank Type: Offensive Element: Katon Range: Melee Specialty: Taijutsu Duration: 1 post Cooldown: 6 posts Description: The user jumps into the air and cloaks their foot in flames. They then slam the target into the ground with an axe kick. This jutsu creates a large crater in the ground and causes massive trauma to the impact site. Impacts to the head will cause instant unconsciousness and very likely break the bones in the shoulder and upper chest. Impacts to the chest itself cause massive internal injuries (internal bleeding, rupturing of smaller organs, broken ribs) and can cause the heart of weak (2 ranks or more below the user) to stop.
