| The cold breeze made the desert child chill to the bone. It was something he was not used to. The cold turned out to be one of his greatest banes traveling. The air although normal held humidity he was not used and made him feel as if he always had a layer sweat above his skin. It felt unnatural. Still he pressed onward in search for housing. A hotel would be too rich for his blood and pockets for that matter. It was hard for Nasin to think his worth was much. In the world he was born into he had been treated poorly. It was of recent events that Nasin’s own luck had risen. The feeling was ominous as if he is becoming indebted to the devil himself with every good fortune that came his way. The idea crept into his head constantly reminding him that life should be hard and cruel. That kindness comes in spades never to be accustomed to. Still an unmeasured part of his heart kept telling hope the idea of finding a place filled with the kind souls that allowed him to stay optimistic. The cold nipping air dragged him away from his inner thoughts. The sun was high in sky, but didn’t offer the intense warmth Nasin desired. It was then he realized the stares that he was receiving. A child of the desert seemed very exotic to the children of the sky. Gently placing his large pack on the floor Nasin used it as a makeshift chair of sorts. He the weight of fatigue sink into his body as he rested. The altitude made him queasy to an extend. Sitting straight up he tried breathing in a more steady pattern all while people gave looks to the genin. Nasin couldn’t focus with the intense stares of others. It would be better to use his time selling his snake oil to these innocent citizens. The snake oil in Nasin’s possession was a simple mix of herbs and spices distilled in cheap rum. It help keep one awake, but nothing more. Standing up he started taking out the snake oil, placing them atop large cloth sheet taken from his pack. In the bazaar of Yokuchigakure seeing merchants, vendors and swindlers was a common sight in a place of commerce, but here no one seemed like they had experience in such large marketplaces. Nasin being born into a world where only the money matters knows exactly how to work crowds, people, develop relationships in a matter of minutes. His silver tongue granted what his strength could not. People started to stare with even more intrigue as Nasin set up his humble shop. Once all the necessary item placement was finished Nasin sat down. The bottles of liquid held strange preserved animals within its confines which drew the attention of those passing by. It was within the first thirty minutes of waiting that Nasin was asked a question by a female his age about his origins, “You are new! Haven’t seen you at all!” Nasin staring at up at the girl smiled at her with a kindness that could have mesmerized a creature akin to cupid, “I hail from the distance sands of Yokuchigakure! I am Nasin Jashin.” The girl turning a shade akin to red looked away from him as Nasin continued, “It is a desert where the sun embraces you. Always.” The girl nodding asked about the bottles to which the vendor answered, “This is a healing tonic!”Holding up a bottle Nasin continued, “We use this ancient tonic to heal our sick, mend our wounds and ease pain from those hurt.” Placing the bottle back on the cloth sheet he continued, “I am here to spread this healing miracle to this land.” The girl excited by Nasin’s pitch promptly bought the bottle. Whether it was from his words or looks remains a mystery, but the result was still what Nasin needed. The girl still flushed by a red hue ran off hugging the bottle tightly against her chest. Soon others followed by approaching Nasin. Some stared at disbelief as Nasin spoke, others listened intently wait for the boy stutter or find some chink in his story, but with time learned they never would. Nasin well verse in the art of selling and buying products could not be easily tricked by mere peasants whom never stepped into the grand bazaar of his homeland. The rest of the day was spent selling his bottles of his refreshing snake oil. It was at some point within day that he had become something of a local sweetheart amongst the local woman. This was unknown to Nasin as he quietly packed his merchandise into his travelers bag. Putting the straps over his shoulders he slightly shifted the weight of the backpack to make more manageable to carry. Nasin held his satisfaction over good sales before wandering off to find some place to stay. After a good distances away Nasin did find a place to rest for a few days. It was an inn that was on the lower price range. It was an odd to find the girl that bought the first bottle of the day running the end with her family. Nasin was greeted by her still flushed with red. Smiling Nasin at her he was taken to a room to rest. Gently dropping his backpack on the floor he took out his rent money smiling as he did so, “I pay you now!” he whispered to her as he invaded her personal space giving her a money to pay his rent for a month. Keeping in his laughter as the girl almost fell backwards fluttered Nasin closed the door locking it before saying good night. Nasin looking glanced around the room he just rented out and admitted that it was better than anything he slept in before. Opening his backpack he took out a few trinkets to liven the room. Mostly books, some clothes, before taking out his dinner. Jerky meat of some poor rabbit he killed while traveling. He took no pleasure in doing so, but he had to eat to survive. It was salty and gamy do to age. It was near expiration date.

| After dinner Nasin was glad to see the baths still open. His body was sore, tired and dirty from his travel to the sky village. The water seeped into his dry skin. Nasin released a sigh of relief as he head sunk below water level. This is a perfect time to think of his plan. Now with a place to rest he could focus on training his body and more importantly his mind. His lung started to hurt from holding his breath, but he wanted to stay submerged as the heat enveloping him felt very relaxing. Enduring the pain for a minute longer his thoughts began to think of his travels.
While traveling to village of the sky Nasin met a few people. Most of the time he spent was in the wilderness hunting while pressing onward. At first the desert scenery almost made the world so huge and vast that it seemed nearly endless. It was overwhelming to travel through the oppressive heat while staring at the ocean of sand. Each step forward was a stepped requiring more effort as the sand would pull you back trying to keep you within it’s hostile environments. It took took weeks of trekking across the desert before he would have his first encounter with grass.
No longer able to hold his breath Nasin broke the water surface as he quietly gasped for air. The bath was empty save for the single nineteen year old. His face was red from the hot water. It stung, but didn’t deter Nasin from his train of thought. The first time Nasin saw grass was when the line between desert and the great plains blurred creating patches of sand springing forth from the sand. It was more green than he had ever seen at once in one area. It was amazing moment for him. It was a moment filled with tranquility and subtle joy. Nasin would spend a few days walking on grass for the first time in his life. It was considerably much easier to traverse upon than sand. It made the journey seem empowering despite his weak nature. What Nasin found particularly fascinating was the amount of wildlife roaming about. They did not hide themselves as well as the animals that dwelled in the desert. It seemed almost too easy to hunt them. Though he only killed what he needed. Fur’s, meats and other products useful for trade. Nasin learned all these things within the great bazaar in Yokuchigakure.
It was one day when he was hunting for food he came across a bear. A massive huge creature covered in brown fur that walked on all fours, but could stand on it’s hind legs making it much taller than any normal human. The bear forced Nasin to run away from the area as he did not want to be mauled to death. Still besides that incident the journey had more pros than cons overall when he thought about it. Some nights were spent hungry, but that didn’t bother Nasin when he had pockets filled with currency of the land.
The nights were cool, but enjoyable. It did not freeze one like the desert did at night. Nasin grabbing a towel decide to exit them bath. Covering himself he noticed a shadow within the fog from what he could tell it was the love struck female spying on him. Nasin not caring much for her feigned ignorance as he left the bath. It had been a long time since he would be able to wear proper sleeping attire and was quite happy about it. Not to mention a soft and comfy bed was waiting for him. More and more Nasin was reminded how blessed he was.
Laying on the bed felt all his sore tired body instantly loosen. The body unable to resist the temptation to sleep quietly drifted off into slumber where Nasin would dream. It was within the realm of dreams, lucid memories and vague images Nasin dreamt of the sea. It was unreal. It was a sea. It smelled of salt and sand. It was the definition of endless. The ocean even had a few boats going along its coasts. Nasin remembers this well. It was a memory only a few days old but had great impact on the traveler. It was like learning the basics of life, learning to read, do math or write. It is trivial, but will always stay with you.
That night Nasin slept well. The morning was bright. It stung his eyes. Sitting up on his bed he slowly began undressing. Today would be spent doing chores. The clothes he wore getting here needed to be washed, dried and then repaired. Not mention he had resupply on food, water and other basic necessities. Hearing a knock on the door Nasin opening the door was greeted by the girl who stuttering revealed her name to be Janna. It was a good name. Complimenting her Nasin was asked to put on a shirt. Smiling he had forgotten that he was undressing. Lightly laughing he opened the door allowing her access into the room as he searched for a clean shirt to wear. Janna blushing intense as Nasin dressed informed him breakfast was ready.
It was another kind token given by fate. This would be the first proper meal he would have in months. The breakfast was quickly eaten. It tasted far better than dried up rabbit or deer over salted. Thanking the owner for the food closed his eyes as he remembered what he used to eat in the slums. Odd enough someone asked what type of food was served in the desert lands. Smiling Nasin sat up as he explained how the food back home was spicey, filled with herbs and meat. The bold flavors of chili peppers would go with the tender meat. The entire table seemed interested in what Nasin described. It was far different from the subtle flavors of the food served in Amagakure. Standing up Nasin waved good bye to the people sitting in the table explaining he had much to do.

| Spending the day doing casual civilian chores was something unexpected. Washing clothes was much easier here though. They had machines that cleaned them. Nasin spent a few minutes watching the clothes before being content knowing which way the clothes spinned. It was oddly captivating. Nasin didn't enjoy being followed by Janna where he went. Janna took a shine to Nasin who she followed in the shadows. Poorly, but in the shadows. Janna wasn’t aware of Nasin profession and simply thought him a merchant traveling the world. It was when he was shopping for preserved meats that he vanished from her view momentarily allowing him to buy his picks and leave without being noticed by her. It was then that he headed to his apartment to drop off his recently purchased belongings. After a few hours of organizing his backpack Nasin decided to take a nap. Sleeping in his bed for a few hours would have given Nasin the extra energy he needed, but it instead overslept waking up the next morning. The next day was as bright as the day before. Instead of chores, shopping and evading a rampant stalker Nasin would spend the rest of his time training in medical ninjutsu as he planned. Heading to the local library to which he was permitted to access low to mid level medical books Nasin planned to read the back to back. It was there he sat down in an isolated desk in the back. The book he picked up was on the brain and its functions. Very useful. Lost in the book Nasin forgot about the passage of time. The books knowledge was too great to step away from. The young pupil felt he had to memorize every word, sentence, paragraph and page. Reading gave him a focus other things in life could not. It made sense to him to try to learn as much as he possibly could. It was after a long day of continuous training of the mind that Nasin gave into his overused mind demanding rest. Standing up he picked up his books with a single motion before checking them out in the front. The attendant in the front was a much older to which none of his natural charm had no power over. Still Nasin somehow convinced her to let him take out more books than allowed. The old lady seemed impressed by his study which persuaded her earlier before he even asked. Walking home was something different from the slums of Yokuchigakure at night. It was far more quiet. It didn’t smell of sweat, trash and filth. The city seemed so much more cleaner. Crime seemed to be very low and from what he could tell prostitution wasn’t so blatant. It was a nice change in pace. The night air was felt good against his skin too. The cool breeze made Nasin shiver though. Nasin never did like the cold. Rubbing his arms in an attempt to warm himself up he picked up the pace trying to get to his apartment as soon as possible. The apartment wasn’t much warmer than outside, but the difference was enough to make Nasin thank the owners. The owners chuckling informed Nasin that this was hot weather to them. Bewildered Nasin sat down on a nearby chair explaining the land scorched by light. He tells of the intensity of the sun’s heat that men have been driven crazy under its gaze. Seeing the fear in the eyes of the people dwelling in the sky Nasin began to explain the bazaar. Out stretching his arm he explained what the bazaar was and it’s vastness. Where every merchant worth their salt in weight tries to go and make a fortune. Picking up his books Nasin stood up no longer wanting to speak of his homeland. It was when he waved good bye when Janna asked as to why he was in such a distant land. Nasin not wanting to answer responded, “To see true beauties of the world.” smiling kindly he then left to his room leaving the now flustered red face girl alone with her parents who were the owners. Nasin no longer in the mood to be near people entered his room locking the door behind him and promptly went to sleep. That night he dreamt of pillars of rising sand. Black water seeping from the ground and fire spewing from the heavens. Nasin staring at the sky did not notice his body being swallowed by the black goop dragging him into ichorous earth. Pungent, vile and utter darkness consumed him as he lost all senses. Fire came next embracing him with all the hate of the world. All pain. All the sins. Everything negative emotion passed through him. Nasin wake up to the bright sun once again. He confusing it for fire jumped up from his bed rolling on the ground before realizing in a heavy sweat he was in fact safe from harm. His heavy breaths only confirmed that he needed time to meditate. Perhaps it would ease his mind from the night terror he had been apart of. It was rare for him to have any type of negative dreams, but when he did it affected him greatly. After a few days Nasin was back to his usual calm, approachable self. With greater time Nasin fell into a sort of rhythmic routine. He would study, train his body and meditate his lessons everyday. This pattern taught him many things in his craft from mending wounds to replacing entire organs. He at one point even manage to cure the sick with his chakra alone, but required a great many days on concentration to do so. After much time had passed Nasin decided to leave within the dead of night. Wanting to learn more of the world. -EXIT- WORD COUNT:3027 | |
