Situated on the largest of the floating islands that make this country famous; Amagakure has earned it's name many times over. The Village Hidden in the Heavens is an idyllic place; less a city and more a large village in appearance. The people of this village value peace and happiness over power and might; they live simple lives focused on personal growth and maintaining the purity of their homeland. This is not to say that the ninja and people of this land are weak, they just prefer their slower, happier way of life to that of militaristic conquests and material wealth.

It is largely unknown as to how the various islands of this country maintain their locations in midair, but they have been stable in this position for so long that an entire civilization has come into being living entirely upon them. The islands in the sea below are populated as well, offering an alternative to the people living in the clouds. Each island maintains either bridges between itself and it's neighbors, or else houses an air/sea port to facilitate travel. Access to Amagakure is found on the largest of the sea islands, which houses a port that doubles as both a water and air port.
