| - Mission Taken – Rabid Animals?:
Mission name: Rabid Animals? Mission rank: B Objective: Find and kill the beasts suspected of being rabid. Location: Land of Forests Reward: / Mission description: Reports of rabid animals have reached the village. Find them, kill them, and bring the bodies back to be tested. Mission details: The animals are wild jungle cats; a small breed not much larger than a house cat that travel in packs. The leader of the group is a large, tan and black spotted creature that has a very obvious wound on it's left hind leg. It is the rabid animal, the rest of the pack are merely following it's lead as they normally would. DO NOT GET BITTEN. If you are bitten, your reward money is forfeit to pay for your treatments. Bring in the leader's body to complete the mission. ”Ugh, I feel so much better today...” Jayr muttered to herself as she got up out of bed; throwing the covers off of herself. She sat up and when she felt no sudden urge to violently cough she grinned. Yup, she was feeling better and she was better. Good, that meant she could get back to work. She hated being flat on her back, doing nothing more than staring at the ceiling. So, up out of bed she got and over to her dresser. She had showered the night before and didn't stink, so there was no point in showering again – especially if she was just going to head straight off to do a job. She dressed quickly in her usual outfit; black undershirt, tan jacket, black shorts, black stockings that went halfway up her thighs, and black boots. She then ran a brush through her long golden blond locks of hair. A little eyeliner and mascara – both black in color – and she was almost ready. She headed into the bathroom, brushed her teeth until they were clean and her breath was minty fresh, and then she was completely ready. She headed out of her bedroom and glanced over to the kitchen where she could smell food: breakfast had been made by either her father or her sister most likely. She ventured in to find a plate left for her. She scarfed down the food quickly, finishing up just in time to hear a knock at the door. She glanced over to the front door as she wiped her mouth on a napkin and then go up and wandered over. Upon opening the door she found herself staring at one of the familiar faces of the many messengers who delivered things across the village of Hana. ”Can I help you?”, Jayr asked curiously as she leaned against the door frame. The messenger grinned at her, blushed, and handed over a note that was sealed closed before he took off in a way that spoke little of rudeness and more of the inability to speak to a pretty girl. Chuckling to herself Jayr remained leaning there as she opened up the note: an assignment was inside: apparently there were some rabid animals running a muck and causing all sorts of issues and she needed to take care of it. Jayr pocketed the note, went into her bedroom and grabbed her bracelets and anklets which were really weapons, and then headed out the door and off to the area that was last reported to have these animals in them... she was definitely going to have to be careful here, being bit by a rabid animal was by no means fun and she had no urge to want to experience such a thing. | As Jayr headed down the street she heard the familiar sound of large paws on the ground and glanced back to see Cana – her horse sized wolf – running to catch up with her. She paused long enough to allow the large creature to do just that before taking off again. ”Come on Cana. We've got some rabid animals to take care of.”, she informed Cana as the pair raced towards the location: both vigilante and on their toes in case one of these animals were to show up suddenly and try to ambush them.
Jayr reached the jungle area; clearly out of Hana at this point. As she reached it both her and Cana slowed to a quiet walk. Jayr looked to the left and right, stepping cautiously, while Cana's ears swiveled around while listening for anything that might be out of the ordinary.
The pair walked for nearly ten minutes before a rustle in the bushes to their north east caused them to stop and pause. Both waited patiently to see what, if anything, was about to come out of the bushes. They didn't have to wait long before a large tan and black colored creature came peaking out; foaming at the mouth in an obvious sign of being rabid. ”Remember, Cana. Don't let it bite you.” She didn't want to see Cana hurt, and she definitely didn't want to see her infected with rabies.
Jayr nodded her head to the left and Cana took off while Jayr moved to the right; the tactic was simple: surround the enemy, confuse the enemy, and attack in a manner that was well practiced and which would ensure that both of them ended up unscathed.
Cana was far larger than Jayr and therefore pounced first; she landed on the tan and black spotted creatures back, successfully pinning it in a way that it couldn't move its head and bite her. Jayr moved in then, cautiously moving from the back to the creature's neck. Once her hands were wrapped around it she jerked the creatures head, snapping its neck.
It was at that moment that she realized they were surrounded: more feline creatures had come out of the bushes and were growling; though none were foaming at the mouth. These creatures weren't rabid, they were just hungry. ”Cana, grab the fallen, we need her for proof. We're going to lead them further away from the village...”, Jayr instructed beneath her breath. Cana gave a subtle nod of understanding and Jayr took off. Cana snatched up the dead body in her mouth and then followed after Jayr with the sound of the pursuit of the other felines behind them.
Jayr ran fast; exceptionally fast. Cana easily caught up with her regardless and in a practiced move Jayr grabbed hold of Cana and swung herself up on the horse sized wolf's back, all without stopping or slowing down. Cana ran quicker then, leading the pack of felines well away from the village before darting off into a stream and running down it.
They lost the animals after that, and Cana with Jayr still on her back headed in a big loop back towards Hana, ensuring that the felines couldn't follow. When they reached Hana Jayr hopped off of Cana's back, took the dead animals from her mouth, and then lead the way to turn in with the proof draped over both of her arms.
