What had started as a simple walk through the village had turned... well, bloody. He hadn't meant for things to happen like this. He just wanted some air, wanted a little bit of food. To see the sky and enjoy some icy, clean air. Nothing special, nothing major. It was a day off, a chance to explore. No one knew who he was, no one cared. He had a little spending money left after a recent set of missions, and he didn't feel like training; not knowing that his 'superiors' would come to watch and heckle and try to enrage him until he exploded and the world went red. He didn't know hat happened after the world turned red; all he could ever remember was the warmth in his body and the smell of blood. Sometimes the screaming, rarely even a word or two; please for mercy... but he didn't like that. He didn't like that feeling or that color or the way he felt when the world returned to snowy white; didn't like cleaning the red liquid off Sui's ears and body. She didn't like being stained red; she was pure and clean and good and red was bad, red was very bad and he didn't like red, not after what red did to him and his family and his world.
Why did they make the world red...?
He just wanted some fruit. A rarity in the snowy village; a strange fruit from the warm lands far far away; expensive and strange and he just wanted to taste it. He could afford it, he'd paid for it with his own money and it was his... so why did they try to take it?
Why did they say those things about Sui...?
Why did they hurt Sui...?
Everything was hot and cold and loud and silent and so very much red. So much red. Red splatters and chunks and pools everywhere. Pathetic cries and whimpers, barely moving bodies that twitched and struggled but slowly froze into grotesque statues in the icy wind.
So much red...
"I just wanted some fruit..."
So much pain...
"Sui... why Sui...?"
It was like before... like every time before...
"Why did you hurt her...?
Why did everyone hurt her? Leave Sui ALONE!
"Why does the world hurt..."
