General Description: Physically, he is a tall man with a somewhat angular face and a phenomenally developed physique. His hair is jet black and long, and usually kept in a pony tail. His attire consists of a set of black pants with European styled boots, and a short sleeved shirt, colored blue in the anime and red in the manga. He also wears a floor length, red and white cloak. This cloak was an inheritance of his late sense, and serves to maintain the strength of it's owner during peacetime and signifies his mastery over his sword.
About You!
Personality: Ugatta is a very sarcastic individual and would often put down others and highlight the bad in them rather than the good. To his subordinates, he is an unforgiving task master, often referring to his students while in training by derogatory names. He will bring up embarrassing things in their lives to motivate them to work harder to become stronger than before. He would rather train someone and teach them a jutsu to attain their goals than to go and remove a threat for them and because of this he is considered lazy. He will complain after he intervenes in behalf on anyone. Despite this rough exterior, Ugatta has a strong sense of responsibility to those that he chooses to protect on the rare cases when he does intervene to protect someone. He loves sake to the point that his body has built up an immunity to its intoxicating abilities. He will usually, with a straight face make fun of his subordinates with a straight face to annoy them so much that they will want to improve on their skills. He knows most of his swordsmanship skills are to kill and wishes to not give his students the burden of having so much blood on his hands like he has. He warns them before teaching them that their whole personality will change more and more with each kill. He is very insightful and full of wisdom due to his experience and would notice if a student is not themselves and would do his best to help them. His philosophy as a swordsman is that your sword firstly should be used to protect those around you who you care for and not for selfish ambition or a lust for power. Unlike some of his past students, he has no compunctions about killing any of his enemies
History: Ugatta Kai was once called Masayo Seera and he came from a very poor family that was forced to work in a coal mine just to get enough money to get by. His parents; Midori and Kurrito Seera were loving parents to him and did their best to teach the young Masayo under candle light how to read and write since they could not afford to send him to school. One day, when an eight year old Masayo was on his way to the city with his father, he suddenly collapsed on the dirt road as if he could not breathe at all. While his father gasped for air, Masayo was reasonably frightened since he did not understand what was happening with his father and started to cry. As his father took his last breath Masayo knew right then and there that he would never see his father alive again. The minutes turned into hours as the sun journeyed across the sky as the sun light began to recede behind the horizon. An old man with a grey monk's robe and a broad rice hat with a cart came trudging up the said road where Masayo was by his father's body unconscious from all the crying. The old man knelt down and touched the little boy and startled he sprung up and punched the old man in his arm. Realizing the little boy had an anger that needed to be trained, the old man thought it would be best to take care of the young child. He carried both Masayo's father's body and the child back home. To the boy's horror, the mother had just vanished. No explanation not a note; nothing. Masayo was now alone in this world. The old man then proceeded to bury the boy's father under a nearby tree and did the needed rituals and told the little boy of his plans to take him. Overcome with grief and sadness, the young child readily agreed to go with him since he did not want to be alone in this world; not now and not ever. The old man, which was in truth the Master of the 'Will of Sword' dojo vowed to teach the child the true will of sword. He was taught that as long as their will be swords in the world, people will die because of it and it was his job to remove certain threats from the world by his own will of sword. He was taught to never use his sword for selfish ambition and to do everything within his power to execute the students who stray from the path.
No one knew of this training with the old man, even when Masayo was sent to the ninja academy. When Masayo killed someone by accident while on a mission, he returned a changed boy. It would be the first person he killed, and the second person he had seen die already in his young life. After this kill, his master comforted him with the fact that it was part of the life of a swordsman and of a ninja. It is a hard life but at least Masayo would eventually have the power to change the world. And it was at this time that Masayo would drop his real name and adopt the name Ugatta Kai. From that time all the way through being promoted as a Chuunin, Ugatta Kai did missions for the Will of Sword and for his village which the Will of Sword's sole goal was to protect the village and its interests without the hierarchy of the village knowing of their actions.
Not too long after his promotion to Chuunin, did enemies come in the night while Ugatta was away and outnumbered his sensei and killed him. When Ugatta came home, he was greeted by the carnage of the attack. Again...Ugatta was once again in this world with nothing but his sword at his side, the threw himself totally into his work.
RP Sample: The moon was full that night as Ugatta rode on horse back through the plains of sand on his way back home from his mission. He was excited, which was a rare thing because of what happened on his mission. Finally, he had found the medicine that was needed to help his sensei come back to better health than he was now. He left him, not so weak that he could not take care of himself but he was no where close to where he was at usually. He left home that day a week ago with a heavy heart knowing his sensei's health was waning. The herb he needed could not be found even within the vast Oasis of his village in the desert sands. And so, Ugatta rode onwards as fast as he could with the news. Upon his arrival at the city gate, he greeted everyone but noticed his superior officer, a Jounin waiting for him there. His name was Reese and his face did not bode well news. Without saying a word, Ugatta followed Reese and realized Reese was going to where he lives. His heart was pounding more and more with each step of his horse on the cobblestone streets of the street to his house. Other officers were there and that was when Ugatta saw the gurney coming out of his house and there was a body in it, and it was covered from head to toe with a single white sheet. At that time, Ugatta knew exactly what was going on. He saw the oak front door in splinters and certain parts of the outside wall had holes in them. He calmly walked past everyone and went inside. He saw the white outline of where his sensei was. He was on his back with his eyes opened and his throat and entrails missing. Ugatta's eyes squinted as he heard that part...his entrails were missing? His emotions flooded every thought and he simply walked up to Reese and told him he would like to have a report on this and he would like to be placed on the case. Reese agreed and Ugatta Kai swore he will find his sensei's killers and why they took his throat and entrails. With that, Ugatta Kai, went into the house, knowing fully well that he would be the next master of the Will of Sword. And so, he went into his sensei's room and took the high collared white cloak and would don this cloak forever....
