Yet another mission for the day; not that she was complaining or anything. It was either do missions or go home and read the same books over and over again. Given those two options? She'd choose missions any day of the week; at least she got paid for them. As Art looked down at the mission slip she found herself feeling a bit hopeful; this wasn't like the last mission that she had thought was a joke at first. The last mission she had done earlier in the day had been to find a lost shoe. This mission? This mission was useful: she had to help clean up after a fire. The investigation was completed and now it was time to try and clean up the bakery so that it could be repaired. Art had absolutely no issues with manual labor.~ She headed out of the building and down the street. Several blocks, a few turns, and a street crossing later and she was standing in front of the bakery in question. It definitely had suffered some serious fire damage, that was easy to tell just from the outside which meant that the inside had to be even worse off. Wondering what she had gotten herself into she stepped, carefully, through the open doorway. The walls were charred black, the floor was soaking wet, and almost everything looked melted or somehow destroyed. Oh yeah, this was going to be a big job; and likely take better part of her afternoon. Perfect, considering the alternative. ”Hey! Here to help~”, she called out, figuring someone – hopefully the person that was in charge – would respond. ”Back here!”, she heard a female voice call out followed by a grunt. With eyebrows raised she hurried back to the back section of the bakery, where all of the actual baking took place. She got there in time to see whom she assumed was the owner attempting to lift a metal storage cabinet to move it out of the way. Art rushed over, grabbing the other end. Together the two lifted it up and moved it carefully out the open back door and into the alley way. The thing was definitely melted, destroyed, and so they placed it down near the rest of the garbage. The rest of the day went much the same; the pair working together to move the heavier objects out of the bakery so that it could be properly cleaned. Those deemed no longer suitable for food preparation or storage were thrown out, while others that could still be cleaned up and used were put into a nearby storage room. Then the cleaning started; the hardest part of course to get all of the excess water out of the bakery. That in itself took nearly three hours until there was only mild wetness left behind. ”I think we're done here for today, Art. Thank you for all of your help. I'm going to let this air dry overnight.””No problem, let me know if you need any further help.”, Art called over her shoulder as she left. Word Count: 524 / 100 | |
